INTERREG EUROPE is a part of the European Territorial Cooperation Objective, and is financed jointly by the ERDF with a budget of 359 million Euros for period of 2014-2020. The scope of application of the ERDF in relation to the objective of European territorial cooperation, as well as the specific guidelines with respect to the mentioned objective, is determined according to Regulation (EU) No 1299/2013.
The program is developed to facilitate the learning and exchange of practices and ideas between the public authorities in order to improve the implementation of regional development policies and programs, in particular, the programs financed by structural funds.
This program addresses all the regions of all the Member States of the European Union, along with Norway and Switzerland.
The program is arranged around four thematic objectives:
•Strengthening the investigation, technological development and research;
•Improving the competitiveness of the SMEs;
•Supporting the transition of all sectors to a low carbon economy;
•Protecting the environment and promoting the resource efficiency.
