Large-Scale Projects

Article 39 of Council Regulation (EC) No 1083/2006, of 11 July 2006, defines Major Projects and establishes that: “the ERDF and the Cohesion Fund may finance the expense of an operation comprising a series of works, activities or services intended in itself to accomplish an indivisible task of precise economic or technical nature, which has clearly identified goals and whose total cost exceeds €25 million in the case of the environment and €50 million in other fields. Operations of this type are called Major Projects”. These thresholds have been unified at €50 million, after the entry into force of Regulation (EU) 539/2010, as of 17 June 2010.
