INTERACT III is a part of the European Territorial Cooperation Objective. It is funded by the ERDF with a budget of 39.39 million Euros for the period of 2014-2020. The scope of application of the ERDF in relation to the objective of European territorial cooperation, as well as the specific guidelines relating to the mentioned objective, is determined according to Regulation (EU) No 1299/2013.
The program covers the whole territory of the Community, Norway and Switzerland.
INTERACT III aims at support and promotion of the European territorial cooperation through the accumulation, exchange of information and capitalization of best practices deriving from the numerous experiences in the field of regional development, cross-border cooperation, transnational cooperation and interregional cooperation. It is also responsible for providing transparency of the results of the various projects. Its list of services abounds with training and consultancy seminars.
To accomplish its mission, the program has four information units distributed within the European territory; one of them is located in Vienna, Viborg, Turku and Valencia.
